To transfer a call in the lab
in
- Tell the caller that you are goint to attempt a transfer and that they should hold the line. You may want to ask for their number so you can call them back if you end up dropping the call. (Use the SCS office phone if it's long distance.)
- Hit flash (or press and release the switch hook).
- Dial the extension of the person you want to xfer to.
- When they answer, introduce the call (e.g., "I have Soe Andsoe on the line; I'm going to tranfer her to you." *
- Hit flash (or the switch hook) again.
