    Server upgraded

    Moodle should now be running much faster, thanks to a brand new server which went live today (for technical details, click "Read More"). You should notice a marked improvement in Moodle's response time. We were also able to enable some new Moodle features that were not workable on the older server, including "drag and drop" reordering of course resources and blocks. As always, if you have problems with Moodle, let us know!

    Specs of the new server:

    • Dell PowerEdge 1950
    • Two Intel Xeon L5420 2.5GHz processors
    • 16 GB of dual-channel memory (8 2GB DIMMS)
    • Two 36GB 15k RPM Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) hard drives, (RAID 1)
    • Two 146GB 10k RPM SAS hard drives, (RAID 1)
    • Two dual-port Intel Gigabit ethernet PCI-E network adapters
    • Dual redundant power supplies
