Since the recent server upgrade, we are using the latest version of Moodle (1.9). As always, there have been many behind-the-scenes fixes and performance enhancements, but there are also several new features worth mentioning.

• Groupings - groups of groups
• Auto-groups - Moodle can assign students to groups automatically
• Outcomes - allows instructors to link courses and activities to specific outcomes
• Notes - instructors can keep notes on individual students, either privately or shared with other course instructors

Perhaps the most visible change for instructors isn't actually a new feature, but one that our new server allowed us to turn on - "drag and drop" reordering of course resources, activities, and even topic/week blocks! With editing turned on, you can now drag items around by the small "4-way arrow" icon near the item's name. The "blocks" along the sides of course sites can also be rearranged by dragging them by their titles (with editing on, of course). Enjoy!
