This is a fairly typical scam - it attempts to get your password by threatening you with account deletion. When examined, the argument here doesn't make sense: if the folks who manage the email server wanted to know who was actually using their email account, they would simply look over the logs of who logged in and when; realistically, an institution like Earlham won't just delete accounts for current students or staff just because they don't use them enough! As always, you should never respond to anyone who asks you to send your password or personal information over email; they are either attempting to steal your identity, or extremely careless!
