There are a variety of situations in which you might want to allow someone without a seminary account to look at your course site, such as:

• Giving a prospective student an online 'tour'
• Sharing course design ideas with a colleague from another institution

Moodle provides a simple mechanism for granting such access. Here's how:

To add participants (students, TAs, supporting instructors), youe the "Assign roles" link in the "Administration" section in the left column of the page. Click on the "Assign roles" link, and you'll see links for the various roles that you can assign people to, along with descriptions of what users with that role are allowed to do in the course site. Since the recent server upgrade, we are using the latest version of Moodle (1.9). As always, there have been many behind-the-scenes fixes and performance enhancements, but there are also several new features worth mentioning.
